Contacted by email initially, was told they had no status match offers running - had a friend a week earlier get matched. I then called and was told to wait for a status challenge later this year.

I posted earlier: I sent them the gif I downloaded from the Hertz website of my Hertz President's Circle status (from the Capital One Venture X) and requested a match to Avis Preferred President's Club. 5 days later they simply responded that they had upgraded me to Avis Preferred Plus. But, 3 days after I sent them the gif, I sent them a screenshot from my Hertz app showing President's Club status. This was 2 days before I got an email saying that I had been upgraded to Avis Preferred Plus. Then, 4 days after they upgraded me to Avis Preferred Plus, I got an email saying "Welcome to our Presidents Club, an invitation only program." The website now shows me with President's Club.

I have been a frequent flier, Gold member of Emirates Skywards for the past 13 years. I travel long haul 7-8 time per years. I am looking to travel with another airline. I wanted to find out whether I can transfer my Emirates Gold status and airmiles to British Airways. The response I received was curt and to the point: Thank you for having written to The Club about your current Tier status with Emirates Skywards and your wish to upgrade your Executive Club account to the same level. I'm sorry to disappoint you, however it's not our policy to match the status of another frequent flyer programme. Tier status, as you know, is our way of recognising and rewarding our most loyal and frequent travellers. To upgrade certain Club members to higher tiers which other members have worked hard to achieve would be unfair and undervalue their continued support. Considering this and everything you mentioned, at this time I'm sorry to say we're unable to approve your request.
